Story Time!

I’ve seen endless photos online of Amsterdam’s beautiful, tilted “X Trees” and finally decided it was time I saw them for myself. This weekend, I committed I’d bike to them - even though I figured they were far.

Lo and behold my surprise when I searched their whereabouts on Google Maps.

It said they were RIGHT by our apartment, directly next to our go-to cafe and grocery store.

​​I was stunned!  This couldn’t be right - we’ve walked up and down this road with our morning Coffee District no less than 20 times since moving here (and that’s probably a conservative estimate). But until today, I never once took time to look up and appreciate what I saw.

Taking this as a needed reminder to spend less time researching what I “should” be seeing, and more time enjoying the view where I am.  Even during a lockdown, when it's easy to focus on all you can't be doing, there is still much to appreciate if you take the time to look.
