Jack and Lou first met as freshmen in college. After graduation, they moved to Chicago, where they had no difficulty trading in the Indiana cornfields for deep dish pizza. Going on their fourth year of marriage, they agree this rotation is by and large the most exciting thing that has ever happened to them, either separately or collectively. Do note they haven't yet gotten on House Hunters International, so this declaration is subject to change. They agree THAT would be the most exciting thing to ever happen to anyone, ever.
Jack is an accountant. His likes include frisbee golf, well-maintained spreadsheets, and when numbers tie out. He has a poor sense of direction and a strong sense of what beer on tap at a restaurant is the best bang for your buck. He is highly competitive and is already planning the next season of his Mario Kart League, which he'll spearhead for his friends no matter the time difference. Also, go Irish.
Lou is a therapist. Her likes include eating shellfish, listening actively, and pretending she's well-versed in wine. She loves her job, and will talk your ear off about it if you'll let her. She has ambitions of being both a sommelier and a travel blogger, and is starting with the latter. She took 4 months of Dutch in 2019 and promptly forgot how to say everything except for "cucumber," because "komkommer" is hilarious.
Prior to this rotation, their last (and only) international adventure as a couple was in 2018, when they visited London, Paris, and only one emergency room along the way. After discovering that allergen reporting standards differ in other countries, they now both know how to say, "Can I please speak to a chef?" and "Are you sure there aren't peanuts in this?" in multiple languages.
